Statement
of Faith
I believe Christianity is Christ. This statement sums up the heart and
uniqueness of Christianity.
I believe Jesus' identity is the central emphasis of His ministry.
Then He asked them, "Who do you say I am?" (Matthew 16:15)
Jesus:
-
The author of its teachings.
-
The object of its doctrine.
-
The origin of its salvation.
-
The fulfillment of its hope.
-
The source of its power.
-
The founder of its church.
-
The one who gave the Holy Spirit and legacy to
those who believe.
-
The Way, the Truth, the Life (John 14:6).
Jesus was not one way of many, but THE way.
I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, without error,
and the final authority for all Christian faith and life.
I believe in one God, creator of all things, infinitely perfect and
eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe Jesus Christ is true God and true man. Jesus lived a sinless
life,
died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins,
arose from the
grave and ascended to Heaven where He is our advocate.
I believe people were created in the image of God, but are now
separated
from God by sin. However by God's grace people are reconciled
to God
through faith in Christ alone as Lord and Savior.
I believe the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict people of sin,
regenerate
the believing sinner, indwell, instruct, and empower the
believer for godly living and service.
I believe every Christian is called to be a part of the "Great Commission", either
locally, nationally, or internationally. |
